I got started in the Make-A-Wish organization a few years ago by helping out with the Waltz for Wishes Gala. My fiancé had been an active volunteer before I came on board to help with the Gala. When he told me about all the wish kids and families he had met and all the wonderful things that Make-A-Wish had done for them, I couldn’t help but come on board “full steam ahead” to help an organization that makes such a wonderful difference.

One of my fiancée’s daughters, who would have been 11, passed away in 2004 from complications of Spina Bifida. Seeing all that she and her parents went through is one more reason I chose to become a part of the Make-A-Wish organization.

Wish granters have the privilege of meeting the wish kids, discovering their wishes, and being a part of their wish experience. The wish may last for a moment, day or week, but the wish memory lasts a lifetime. It is something the children and families always cherish. Being the mother of two lovely daughters makes me even more appreciative of the work done by Make‐A‐Wish, and I am grateful to be part of the wish granting process!
